Switch Hitter vs. Switch Pitcher

This is one of those "what-if" situations I've always wondered about in baseball but never actually saw happen...until now. This sequence actually prompted an official rule change that allows the batter and pitcher to switch sides only once per at bat after the first pitch has been thrown.

Starts at :50

For those wondering, Greg A. Harris is the only major leaguer in the modern era
to pitch with both arms.

  2. A switch-hitter is a player who can bat both left-handed and right-handed depending on the pitcher (against a right-handed pitcher they would usually bat lefty, and against a left-handed pitcher they would bat righty). I'd guess that every team has at least one switch-hitter, while a switch pitcher, who can throw left-handed and right-handed depending on the batter, is extremely rare. Imagine if an NBA player could shoot consistently with both hands, how difficult it would be to defend/anticipate.

Hope that explains it a little better.
