Back to Boston

No real Lakers fans expected this series to be a breeze so I wasn't entirely surprised that the Celtics evened the series up yesterday. Yes, the refs we're terrible in Game 2, but I believe it will end up balancing out by the end of the series. Plus I just don't see Ray Allen shooting THAT well in every game the rest of the way.

The other night Renheezie packed a beastly bowl but then proceeded to take quite possibly the smallest rip I've ever witnessed haha.

It's all good though because he made up for it with this blunt during halftime of the game.

Barkev came through to finish up some studying, but more importantly he brought over this secret seasoning blend that his Aunt made.

We put it right to use and grilled some short ribs and chicken breasts to accompany the blunt.

Good Riddance/Cinco de Mayo

It's a day of celebration for Raiders fans across the country. This lazy schmuck will no longer be squeezing his fat self into the silver and black.

He won only seven of his 25 starts, completed just 52.1 percent of his passes in his career with 18 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, 15 lost fumbles and a passer rating of 65.2. The Raiders have paid him more than $36 million through last season, meaning he's been paid more than $5 million per win, more than $2 million per touchdown pass and more than $100,000 per completion.

When it comes to Mexican food I'm pretty biased towards a few places in LA, so it's not surprising that I've been pretty unimpressed with most of the spots in Irvine. Me and Renheezie decided to go out to Santa Ana yesterday to find something a little more authentic for Cinco de Mayo.

Of course before we left a joint was in order.

Alebrije's Grill. The dude spoke no English so I had to use what little Spanish I remembered from High School.

A little weekend wrap up

I came up to LA for the weekend to handle some business pertaining to our company...not much got accomplished, I expected to do way more, but little by little things are happening.

So Friday night I chilled with some of the OG homies and went over to the big homie P's house.
Smoked an L and a fat ass J in some rice papers.
(click ALL pics to enlarge photos)

This dude was convinced they were better than zig zags, but either way it was a good smoke lol.

Faded as hell, P busted out an ooooold pair of his sneakers from like 9 years ago lol. Laker fans and sneakerheads will appreciate this...

You should know whose signature shoe that is.

Anyways, on Saturday I went out during the day and ran a few errands before the Cavaliers game at 5. (Samir, dont cry buddy, you guys might win one in Beantown. MAYBE)

Here are a few pics to sum up that day...

Copped a pack of Margo's Bark to support a good cause. I must say, I really like root beer but this shit is pretty good.

Had to swoop some dank Cuban food from this spot on Sepulveda called El Rincon Criollo. Don't sleep on it!

And Saturday night kicked it with some homies...one of them has turned hipster. SMFH haha

Stick around with us for a few weeks because that's when its goin doooowwn!

Game 5

I don't know about any other Lakers fans but I'm not at all surprised that the series is tied 2-2 heading into game 5 Tuesday. The inability to stop Russell Westbrook has killed the Lakers so far but I've been most disappointed with the lack of effort and hustle. The Thunder are after every loose ball, attacking the rim and playing solid defense while showing no signs of their playoff inexperience.

Having said that, I think being back at home will have the Lakers playing with more energy and focus and they'll pick up the W.

Some pics from the weekend...

Friday night dutch before heading out to Proof bar/lounge in Santa Ana.

Woke up the next morning in need of herbals and some serious food so I went out to Lake Forest to hit up Club Meds for a fresh batch of Cotton Candy...

...And to The Hat for a pastrami burger.

Enjoyed this dutch courtesy of Renheezie after the Lakers played miserably Saturday night.

Today catching up on some homework.

I also have to add that for the first time in several years the Raiders had a solid draft and I'm looking forward to a turnaround season this year. Picking up Jason Campbell from the Redskins isn't the complete answer at the QB position but he's a definite upgrade and hopefully signifies the end of the JaMarcus Russel era.

First round pick Rolando McClain, LB.

"Bud Brownies just kicking in..."

So Friday night we made a successful batch of cannabutter. A few pictures from the process (which is missing some steps because I was high and forgot to take pics):

Bullrider x Budda Kush

After 5 or 6 times grinding the weed we found this survivor. Promptly packed him in the illadelph.

Adding the weed to the butter. We used a 1/2 pound of butter to a 1/2 ounce of trees.

After letting the butter solidify and freeze overnight, we melted it down, added it to the brownie mix and were pleased with the result.

Step Your Sandwich Game Up

If you don't know about putting a fried egg on your sandwich (or burger, rice, whatever) then you've been missing out. Got to have the yolk runny if you want to keep it official.

It's Been a Long Time...

It's beginning to look like the "super-post" from St. Louis is on Detox status and will never be seen by the public. As far as things here in L.A. it's definitely slowed down a bit with people starting to go back to school. I've been forced to roll solo on a few occasions like the other night when i was fiending for some Ethiopian food at Awash but didn't have the 5+ people to roll in there deep like usual. Instead I stopped by to grab some food to-go and they handled their business as usual.

Of course it wouldn't be Awash without some trees.

While I'm confident in my blunt rolling proficiency, the occasional mishap does occur, like this little tear below trying to tell me the blunt was too fat.

Not an issue though, as some quick surgery remedies the problem.

On the music side Beanie Sigel's new album, Broad Street Bully, will be bought based solely off this new track.
